The company Horizon Bois, based in Rennes (France), and managed by architect Thierry Soquet, won a prize at the Canopée Challenge, a national competition dedicated to innovation in the forestry and wood sector.
Horizon Bois won the sum of 15,000 euros for Hoboa®, a low-carbon construction system and a mixed wood-concrete floor solution adapted to high-rise collective housing.
This process will be integrated into the construction of a 12-storey, 35-metre-high wooden building, co-developed by the Rennes-based agency Architecture Plurielle and the Breton developer Lamotte. The eco-responsible building will be located in the EuroRennes business district, near the train station. It will house three floors of offices and 50 flats. The building, already open to commercialisation, is due to be delivered at the end of 2024.
